HOW TO INSTALL THE ACTION

1. After you open Photoshop go to the Actions panel (Window> Actions)

THINGS TO CHECK

1. Your photo is in RGB color mode

2. Your photo is in 8bit color mode

3. You are running the English version of Photoshop. (CS5,CS6,CC+)

4. (Just for CS5 and higher versions) Click on menu icon at the right on “LAYERS” panel and go to “Panel Option…”, and check the “Add “copy” to Copied Layers and Groups”.

HOW TO USE THE ACTION

1. Open your photo (File > Open)

2. Leave the photo layer locked and set as “Background”.

3. Create a new layer above the “Background” layer and name it “paint”. MUST be all lowercase.

4. Paint in “paint” layer the place where you want the fire effect (I recommend using a large brush, hardness to 0% and you can use any colors)

5. After you have painted over “paint” layer, click on the “Dual Lights Studio Effect – EthanFX” Action, after press the PLAY button (Play Selection)

6. As soon as the render is done, you can also customize and improve the result as you want.
You have 20 Color Preset to play with. Try to turn visibility on and off to see the difference.
If you do not like the result, try again because every time you run this action will have a different result since each time paint area will be different.
